Red wine has a lot of benefits, but in order to get them, we have to consume it in moderation. One glass of red wine per day – i.e. 250 ml in women and 400 ml in men – is the amount that will bring you these benefits, while excess can have an exact opposite effect.
Even though it has many beneficial substances, red wine remains an alcoholic beverage, which entails a high risk of addiction, as well as liver and other diseases.
At the same time, hypertensive people should consume red wine only occasionally and in small amounts, as it will further increase their blood pressure. People suffering from liver disease – hepatitis, cirrhosis – cannot consume alcoholic beverages of any kind.
You need to know that not every red wine has all the qualities we talk about above. These properties depend on the quality of the wine. Read the label carefully and choose drinks as natural as possible, especially those certified organic. Wine, like any other alcoholic beverage, should not be consumed in excessive quantities.
